RHYTHM: TWO HAND RHYTHMS
MELODY: WHAT IS A SCALE?
Cause two hands are better than one! These
rhythms are direct borrows from drums. The left hand is the bass drum
(the ‘kick’ drum) and the right is the snare (the thing
the drummer keeps hitting on the backbeats while flinging their hair
around). I find that keyboards are far punchier when you either hit
the rhythm with the drummer, or play like the drummer, or know the
drum rhythm so you can play around it and make the whole thing percolate.
